A monofocal IOL provides one primary focal point. Before surgery, the surgeon and patient determine the preferred refractive target. Country of manufacture alone does not determine visual quality. The specific IOL model, optical characteristics, eye condition, and accuracy of biometric calculation are more important. At Ahvar Clinic, lens selection is based on diagnostic measurements.
What it addresses / benefits
- surgical treatment of cataract
- implantation of an artificial lens
- calculation of IOL optical power
- monofocal optical design
- individualized lens selection according to eye parameters.
Preparation
Biometric eye measurements and IOL power calculations are performed before surgery. The exact IOL model is discussed with the surgeon.
How the procedure is performed
The cloudy natural lens is removed microsurgically and the selected monofocal IOL is implanted into the capsular bag.
Result / recovery
Vision recovers gradually after surgery. The need for glasses at certain distances depends on the selected refractive target and individual eye parameters.

Ophthalmologist Consultation
An ophthalmologist consultation provides a comprehensive assessment of symptoms, vision, and eye health to determine the need for diagnostics, treatment, or follow-up.

Comprehensive vision diagnostics combines appropriate tests to assess visual acuity, refraction, intraocular pressure, and other relevant eye parameters.
Learn moreLaser Vision Correction
Laser vision correction changes the optical properties of the cornea to correct refractive errors and reduce dependence on glasses or contact lenses.
Learn moreCataract Treatment
A cataract is clouding of the eye’s natural lens. When vision is significantly affected, the main treatment is surgical replacement of the cloudy lens with an artificial IOL.
