Laser Vision Correction

Laser vision correction changes the optical properties of the cornea to correct refractive errors and reduce dependence on glasses or contact lenses.

In myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism, the optical system of the eye does not focus light precisely on the retina. Refractive laser surgery can change the shape of the cornea and correct part of these optical errors. The most appropriate laser technique can be selected only after detailed diagnostic testing. Not every patient is a suitable candidate for refractive laser surgery. At Ahvar Clinic, eligibility for correction is determined by an ophthalmic surgeon after comprehensive assessment.

What it addresses / benefits

  • correction of myopia
  • correction of hyperopia in suitable cases
  • correction of astigmatism
  • individualized treatment calculations
  • reduction in dependence on optical correction.

Preparation

A comprehensive evaluation of vision and the cornea is required before surgery. The doctor assesses refractive stability, corneal thickness and shape, and possible contraindications. Instructions regarding contact lens use before testing are provided separately.

How the procedure is performed

After preoperative calculations, the surgeon reshapes the cornea using the selected laser technique. The exact technology is chosen after diagnostics and depends on eye anatomy and the type of refractive error.

Result / recovery

Vision changes after surgery, but the speed of recovery depends on the correction method and individual factors. The final result is assessed during follow-up visits.
