Sclerotherapy is an office-based treatment for selected internal hemorrhoids. It is not a universal treatment for external hemorrhoids and is not appropriate for every stage of hemorrhoidal disease. At Ahvar Clinic, the method is selected after proctological evaluation.

Preparation
A proctology examination is required to confirm the diagnosis and determine the stage of hemorrhoidal disease. Medications affecting blood clotting should be reported.
How the procedure is performed
Using an anoscope, the doctor identifies the internal hemorrhoid and injects a sclerosing agent into the appropriate area.
Result / recovery
The hemorrhoid gradually decreases in size. Mild discomfort or limited bleeding may occur. More than one treatment session may sometimes be required.
