An anal fissure is a tear in the lining of the anal canal and commonly causes significant pain and bright-red bleeding during or after bowel movements. Management depends on whether the fissure is acute or chronic, as well as sphincter function and associated conditions. At Ahvar Clinic, treatment is selected after proctological assessment.
What it addresses / benefits
- reduction of pain during bowel movements
- treatment of associated bleeding
- improvement of conditions for healing
- conservative treatment in suitable cases
- surgical treatment of chronic fissure when indicated.
Preparation
A proctological examination is required because pain and bleeding with bowel movements can have different causes.
How the procedure is performed
Acute fissures are often treated first with stool regulation and medical therapy. Chronic fissures that do not respond to conservative treatment may require additional or surgical management.
Result / recovery
Healing time depends on disease duration and treatment method. Maintaining regular soft stools is important in reducing recurrence risk.
