Beard Transplant

A beard transplant is a procedure designed to restore or increase facial hair density by transferring the patient’s own hair follicles to selected areas of the face.

A beard transplant involves transferring the patient’s own hair follicles to areas of the face where hair is absent, sparse, or unevenly distributed. The procedure may be used to increase overall beard density, fill isolated gaps, or modify the visual shape and contour of the beard. Planning is based on facial anatomy, existing hair growth, and the natural direction of hairs along the cheeks, chin, and jawline. A natural appearance depends not only on density but also on careful control of the angle and direction of each transplanted follicle. At Ahvar Clinic, the beard transplantation plan is created individually. The specialist evaluates the available donor supply, the patient’s facial hair pattern, and the desired shape before determining graft distribution and the appropriate scope of the procedure.

What it addresses / benefits

  • correction of sparse or uneven beard growth
  • filling areas with insufficient hair density
  • reshaping beard contours
  • use of the patient’s own hair follicles
  • individualized planning of hair direction and distribution.

Preparation

Before the procedure, the specialist evaluates the planned transplant areas, existing facial hair growth, and the condition of the donor area. The desired beard shape and density are discussed in advance. Medical history, medications, and the need for additional examinations are assessed individually.

How the procedure is performed

During consultation, the future beard shape and areas requiring additional density are determined. Follicular grafts are harvested from a suitable donor area and transplanted into the planned facial zones. During placement, the specialist considers the natural angle and direction of hair growth in different parts of the beard. After the procedure, the patient receives recommendations for donor and recipient area care.

Result / recovery

Temporary skin changes may occur in both the donor and transplant areas during early recovery. The transplanted hairs follow a natural hair-growth cycle, so the visual result develops gradually. Final shape and density are assessed as new hair growth becomes established. Recovery time varies from patient to patient.
