Autorefractometry provides rapid preliminary objective information about the optical properties of the eye. The device output should not automatically be treated as a final eyeglass prescription. Final correction is determined together with subjective refraction and other clinical factors. At Ahvar Clinic, the test may be performed independently or as part of comprehensive diagnostics.
What it addresses / benefits
- objective assessment of refraction
- detection of myopia
- detection of hyperopia
- measurement of astigmatism
- support in selecting optical correction.
Preparation
Special preparation is generally not required. In some diagnostic situations, the test may be repeated after pupil dilation.
How the procedure is performed
The patient looks at a target inside the device while the autorefractor automatically analyzes how light passes through the eye’s optical system.
Result / recovery
The device provides objective refractive values, which the doctor compares with subjective vision testing.

An ophthalmologist consultation provides a comprehensive assessment of symptoms, vision, and eye health to determine the need for diagnostics, treatment, or follow-up.

Comprehensive vision diagnostics combines appropriate tests to assess visual acuity, refraction, intraocular pressure, and other relevant eye parameters.

Laser vision correction changes the optical properties of the cornea to correct refractive errors and reduce dependence on glasses or contact lenses.

A cataract is clouding of the eye’s natural lens. When vision is significantly affected, the main treatment is surgical replacement of the cloudy lens with an artificial IOL.
