The small saphenous vein has variable anatomy, so accurate ultrasound mapping is important regardless of the ablation method used. Adhesive closure is one of the available non-thermal endovenous treatment options. At Ahvar Clinic, indications are determined by the vascular surgeon.
What it addresses / benefits
- treatment of SSV reflux
- non-thermal technology
- minimally invasive access
- ultrasound guidance
- no laser-based tissue heating.
Preparation
Detailed duplex mapping of the SSV and surrounding anatomy is required.
How the procedure is performed
A catheter is positioned in the pathological segment and medical adhesive is delivered sequentially along the selected portion of the vein.
Result / recovery
The treated vein gradually stops contributing to pathological venous flow. Follow-up is required.
