Sclerotherapy can be used for vessels of different sizes, from small telangiectasias to selected varicose veins. For larger or deeper veins, treatment may be performed under ultrasound guidance. At Ahvar Clinic, sclerosant concentration and technique are individualized.
What it addresses / benefits
- treatment of selected varicose veins
- treatment of reticular veins
- correction of spider veins
- minimally invasive injection-based method
- possibility of repeated treatment sessions.
Preparation
The phlebologist evaluates the vessels and determines whether sclerotherapy is appropriate for the specific vein type. Ultrasound guidance may be required for larger veins.
How the procedure is performed
A sclerosant is injected directly into the selected vein. It acts on the inner vessel wall, leading to gradual closure of the vein.
Result / recovery
Bruising, temporary pigmentation, localized firmness, or inflammatory-type reactions may occur.
