Hysteroscopy enables direct examination of the inside of the uterus. It may be used for both diagnosis and treatment of selected intrauterine conditions. When a polyp or another suitable lesion is identified, it may be removed using instruments passed through the hysteroscope. At Ahvar Clinic, the extent of the procedure is determined according to the clinical indication.

What it addresses / benefits

  • direct visualization of the uterine cavity
  • diagnosis of polyps and other intrauterine abnormalities
  • investigation of abnormal uterine bleeding
  • possibility of targeted biopsy
  • removal of selected intrauterine lesions.

Preparation

The gynecologist determines the indication and required pre-procedure testing. Timing may depend on the menstrual cycle and clinical purpose.

How the procedure is performed

A hysteroscope is passed through the vagina and cervix into the uterine cavity. The doctor examines the endometrium and may use additional instruments for biopsy or treatment.

Result / recovery

Light bleeding and cramping may occur after the procedure. Recovery depends on whether hysteroscopy was purely diagnostic or included surgical treatment.
