Ultrasound is one of the core diagnostic tools in gynecology. It can be used to assess the uterus, endometrium, ovaries, pelvic fluid, and masses and to monitor findings over time. At Ahvar Clinic, the ultrasound approach is selected according to the clinical purpose.

What it addresses / benefits

  • assessment of the uterus and endometrium
  • examination of the ovaries
  • detection of cysts and other masses
  • evaluation of pelvic pain or menstrual abnormalities
  • monitoring of changes over time.

Preparation

Preparation depends on the type of examination. A full bladder may be required for transabdominal ultrasound, while it is usually emptied for transvaginal scanning. Specific instructions are provided in advance.

How the procedure is performed

The examination is performed using a transabdominal or transvaginal ultrasound probe. The doctor evaluates the size, structure, and relationship of the pelvic organs.

Result / recovery

The patient receives an ultrasound report. Findings are interpreted together with symptoms and other diagnostic information.
