Lipofilling uses the patient’s own fat tissue to modify volume in selected areas of the face or body. The tissue is harvested from a donor area, processed, and transferred to previously planned recipient zones. Planning requires assessment of both the treatment area and available donor tissue. The amount of transferred fat and the method of distribution depend on the patient’s anatomy and the aesthetic or reconstructive objective. At Ahvar Clinic, lipofilling is planned individually by a plastic surgeon after evaluation of body proportions and tissue condition.
What it addresses / benefits
- restoration of soft-tissue volume
- correction of selected facial or body contours
- use of the patient’s own tissue
- possibility of combining fat harvesting with correction of the donor area.
Preparation
Before the procedure, the plastic surgeon evaluates the areas requiring additional volume and possible donor sites. Medical history and current medications are reviewed. Necessary examinations are determined individually.
How the procedure is performed
Fat tissue is harvested from a selected donor area using liposuction. After preparation, the material is injected in small amounts into areas where volume needs to be restored or reshaped. Distribution is planned according to anatomy and treatment goals.
Result / recovery
Swelling and temporary changes may occur in both the donor and recipient areas. Some of the transferred tissue undergoes a natural adaptation process, so the final volume is not assessed immediately. Results develop gradually.
