Mastopexy is a surgical procedure designed to correct breast sagging and reshape breast form. Changes may occur due to age, pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, and individual tissue characteristics. A breast lift is not primarily intended to significantly increase breast volume. If a patient also wants volume enhancement, the surgeon evaluates separately whether another technique should be combined with mastopexy. At Ahvar Clinic, the mastopexy plan is developed individually according to anatomy and the patient’s goals.
What it addresses / benefits
- correction of breast ptosis
- reshaping and repositioning of the breasts
- removal of excess stretched skin
- repositioning of the nipple-areola complex when indicated.
Preparation
Before surgery, the plastic surgeon evaluates breast shape, position, and tissue condition. Desired changes and possible surgical approaches are discussed. Required preoperative examinations are selected individually.
How the procedure is performed
The surgeon makes planned incisions and reshapes the breast tissue. Excess skin is removed, and the breast and nipple-areola complex may be repositioned when necessary. The technique depends on the starting anatomy and degree of ptosis.
Result / recovery
Swelling and temporary changes in sensation may occur after surgery. Breast shape gradually stabilizes during healing. Final results are assessed after postoperative changes subside.
