Some types of facial surgical correction may be performed under local anesthesia when the planned procedure is limited enough for this approach to be medically appropriate. Suitability is determined by the surgeon after examination. The choice of anesthesia should not be based solely on patient preference. The extent of surgery, individual anatomy, and medical factors must also be considered. At Ahvar Clinic, the anesthesia method and surgical technique are selected individually after plastic surgery consultation.
What it addresses / benefits
- correction of localized facial tissue descent
- improvement of selected facial contours
- possibility of performing an appropriate procedure under local anesthesia
- individualized surgical technique.
Preparation
The plastic surgeon evaluates the required scope of correction and determines whether the procedure is suitable for local anesthesia. Medical history, medications, and general health are reviewed. Additional preparation is determined individually.
How the procedure is performed
After preoperative marking and local anesthesia, the surgeon performs the planned tissue correction. The extent of surgery depends on anatomical changes and the selected technique. After the procedure, the patient receives postoperative care instructions.
Result / recovery
Temporary swelling and discomfort may occur after surgery. Results develop gradually as the tissues heal. Return to normal activity varies between patients.
