Upper Blepharoplasty (General Anesthesia)

Upper blepharoplasty corrects excess skin and selected soft tissues of the upper eyelid according to the patient’s periorbital anatomy.

Book an appointment →

Upper blepharoplasty treats the eyelid itself but does not replace brow lifting when significant brow ptosis is present. The entire upper third of the face should therefore be assessed before surgery. Local anesthesia and general anesthesia are anesthesia options for the same operation rather than separate procedures.

What it addresses / benefits

  • correction of excess upper eyelid skin
  • refinement of upper eyelid contour
  • preservation of appropriate tissue volume
  • possible functional improvement in marked hooding
  • scar placement within the natural eyelid crease.

Preparation

Brow position, eyelids, ocular surface condition, and previous procedures are assessed. The type of anesthesia is selected individually.

How the procedure is performed

Through an incision within the natural eyelid crease, the surgeon performs the planned correction of skin and other tissues.

Result / recovery

Swelling, bruising, dryness, and temporary discomfort may occur. The scar gradually becomes less noticeable.
