Uro-Oncology Consultation

A uro-oncology consultation is intended for evaluating symptoms, diagnostic findings, or conditions where a tumor of the urinary or male reproductive system needs to be excluded or further assessed.

Uro-oncology deals with tumors affecting the urinary system and male reproductive organs. Reasons for consultation may include abnormalities detected on ultrasound or other imaging, blood in the urine, urination problems, or other symptoms requiring further assessment. A suspicious test result does not automatically confirm a cancer diagnosis. To clarify the nature of the finding, the doctor reviews medical history and diagnostic results and determines whether additional testing is required. At Ahvar Clinic, uro-oncology consultation is focused on appropriate initial assessment and determining the next steps for patients with suspicious changes involving the genitourinary system.

What it addresses / benefits

  • evaluation of suspicious changes in the genitourinary system
  • review of ultrasound and other diagnostic findings
  • assessment of changes involving the prostate, kidneys, bladder, and other organs
  • determination of whether further testing is required
  • planning of the next diagnostic or follow-up steps.

Preparation

Patients should bring all available medical reports, laboratory results, ultrasound findings, CT or MRI reports, and other previous investigations if available. The doctor should also be informed about prior procedures and current treatment. Repeating tests before the consultation is not necessary unless specifically recommended.

How the procedure is performed

The urologist reviews symptoms, medical history, and available diagnostic findings. A clinical examination may be performed when appropriate, and the need for further evaluation is determined. If consultation with an oncologist or another specialist is required, the patient is directed to the appropriate next step.

Result / recovery

The patient receives an assessment of the available findings and a plan for further diagnosis or monitoring. A uro-oncology consultation does not in itself mean that cancer is present; its purpose is to evaluate suspicious findings professionally and determine the appropriate next diagnostic steps.
